Florence Barnett Howland
After years of studying dance, Floss came across Shiatsu, a Japanese healing form working with meridians and their pressure points. Shiatsu engages the power of touch, stretches and corrective exercises to encourage healing. She found it to be incredibly nourishing and supportive. Intrigued she started her training at the British School of Shiatsu-Do and graduated from the Bristol school of shiatsu in 2001.
In the last few years she has continued her professional development in to Acutonics which she has found to be a wonderful natural progression and is excited to be working with sound. Acutonics works with meridians like acupuncture and shiatsu, only it is carried out with tuning forks for the applied use of sound vibration, resonating throughout the body.
She has practised Shiatsu for over twenty years and specialises in fertility, pregnancy, birth, the elderly and those in palliative care. She continues to work with all acute and chronic health conditions and loves the angle of preventative care that the Japanese have. Fascinated by the bodies innate ability to restore and heal, Floss likes to work with people on their health journey.
Floss is a fellow of the Shiatsu Society.
